How to Remove the Fuel Tank From a BMW 325


1. Open the door and remove the bottom seat cushion from the car using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets. Unbolt the covers located on both sides of the area underneath the seat using the ratchet.
2. Unbolt the fuel level senders on the sides of the tank using the ratchet. Then lift the rear of the car using the jack and set it down onto a pair of jack stands.
3. Unbolt the rear muffler section from the car using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets, then lower it out of the way. Unbolt the driveshaft from the rear end of the car using an open-end wrench.
4. Place the jack underneath the gas tank. Unbolt the gas tank from the chassis using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets. Slowly lower the jack to drop it down from the chassis. Disconnect the fuel lines and connections from the tank using a flat head screwdriver.

The Location of the Fuel Relay on a Mercedes


1. Ensure that the Mercedes-Benz engine is turned off.
2. Examine the rear compartment area on the passengers side of the trunk area.
3. Unscrew the bolts of the trim panel with a socket wrench. Lift the panel off and set the component aside. The fuel pump relay will be mounted in the fenderwell, identifiable as a black rectangular block similar in appearance to a wall cell phone charger.
